Senior Design Release Engineer- Outsourced Brake Controls

Job Description

The Role:
As a Senior Design Release Engineer specializing in Outsourced Brake Controls Software you will play a critical role in the design development and integration of complex software systems for automotive brake controls. This position requires a customer-focused results-oriented individual who can effectively lead cross-functional teams and drive projects to successful release.

What Youll Do (Responsibilities):

• Lead the design development and integration activities for outsourced brake control software ensuring adherence to project timelines and quality standards.
• Collaborate extensively with internal and external stakeholders including suppliers development teams and validation engineers to define software requirements and ensure seamless integration.
• Manage and execute engineering release processes utilizing Engineering Release Systems including documentation configuration management and issue tracking.
• Apply Group Problem Solving techniques to identify and resolve complex technical challenges throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Manage software validation plans for your assigned program.
• Issue part saleable status based on successful completion of all required testing
• Support controller warranty analysis issue resolution parts restriction and report updates as required to team leadership.
• Act as a technical lead for cross-functional teams fostering a collaborative environment and driving accountability for project deliverables.
• Ensure all software releases meet General Motors stringent safety performance and quality standards.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Computer Engineering Computer Science or a related field.
• Proven experience in software design development and integration preferably within the automotive industry.
• Demonstrated proficiency with Engineering Release Systems and their application in a complex product development environment.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and driving projects to successful completion.
• Proficiency in Group Problem Solving methodologies.
• Familiarity with Teamcenter Visualization or similar product lifecycle management (PLM) tools.
• Excellent communication interpersonal and presentation skills with a strong customer-focused approach.
• Highly results-oriented with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
