The Role:
As a Senior Design Release Engineer specializing in Outsourced Brake Controls Software you will play a critical role in the design development and integration of complex software systems for automotive brake controls. This position requires a customer-focused results-oriented individual who can effectively lead cross-functional teams and drive projects to successful release.
What Youll Do (Responsibilities):
- Lead the design development and integration activities for outsourced brake control software ensuring adherence to project timelines and quality standards.
- Collaborate extensively with internal and external stakeholders including suppliers development teams and validation engineers to define software requirements and ensure seamless integration.
- Manage and execute engineering release processes utilizing Engineering Release Systems including documentation configuration management and issue tracking.
- Apply Group Problem Solving techniques to identify and resolve complex technical challenges throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Manage software validation plans for your assigned program.
- Issue part saleable status based on successful completion of all required testing
- Support controller warranty analysis issue resolution parts restriction and report updates as required to team leadership.
- Act as a technical lead for cross-functional teams fostering a collaborative environment and driving accountability for project deliverables.
- Ensure all software releases meet General Motors stringent safety performance and quality standards.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Computer Engineering Computer Science or a related field.
- Proven experience in software design development and integration preferably within the automotive industry.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Engineering Release Systems and their application in a complex product development environment.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and driving projects to successful completion.
- Proficiency in Group Problem Solving methodologies.
- Familiarity with Teamcenter Visualization or similar product lifecycle management (PLM) tools.
- Excellent communication interpersonal and presentation skills with a strong customer-focused approach.
- Highly results-oriented with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
