Hours are 7:45 am - 3:45 pm on screening days. Twice per month late appointments (10 am - 6 pm) are scheduled.

OVERVIEW

Complete Early Childhood health and developmental screenings for ISD 196 preschool age children. Screeners are scheduled for 1-2 days per week up to 95 days per year. This position works 8 hours per scheduled day and the calendar includes working four Saturdays per year and two early evenings per month. Early Childhood screenings are scheduled from late July- early June.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Create a positive and welcoming environment for all families.
2. Complete developmental screenings of 3to 5 year olds using a standardized assessment tool.
3. Complete short interviews with parents regarding childrens health and development.
4. Maintain good communication and cooperation with colleagues families and the Early Childhood Screening Manager.
5. Collaborate with language interpreters.
6. Record screening outcomes into the screening database.
7. Follow Minnesota early childhood screening requirements.
8. Demonstrated experience and proficiency working with a culturally ethnically racially and socioeconomically diverse school community is preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Current Minnesota teaching license preferred or similar training and experience.
2. Strong communication and organizational skills.
3. Experience with standardized educational assessment preferred.

According to contractual agreement
Rate of pay: $30.00 per hour / $240 per full day.
