Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide essential nursing care within a correctional healthcare environment. The LPN will support patient care delivery medication administration and clinical operations while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards in a secure setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer medications and manage pill call in accordance with protocols
- Assist physicians during sick call and medical examinations
- Perform basic nursing duties and clinical procedures within scope of practice
- Monitor and document patient health status and behavioral changes
- Maintain accurate and confidential medical records
- Manage medical supplies medications and equipment inventory
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide appropriate care
- Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of medical units and equipment
- Prepare reports logs and maintain operational documentation
- Coordinate and escort patients for medical care as required
- Adhere to facility safety security and compliance standards
Required Qualifications
Education:
- Graduate of an approved Practical Nursing program
Licensure & Certifications:
- Active LPN license in the state of employment
- Valid Drivers License
Skills & Experience:
- Ability to read write and communicate effectively in English
- Strong clinical and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a secure structured environment
- Attention to detail and adherence to protocols
