Job Description
This position reports to the VP of Corporate Functions and Enterprise Systems. This position would be ideally based in our Herndon VA HQ with the flexibility to collaborate in a hybrid manner where working remotely 1-2 days per week would be the norm. The candidate must be capable of global travel and will likely travel 3-4 weeks per year. This role is the first of its kind and you will be responsible for standing up a new automation team and building over 40 critical automations this year
Primary Responsibilities
- Design develop and deploy automations that support business processes across finance operations IT and other enterprise functions.
- Work independently from minimal functional requirements and ambiguity to define automation approaches system integrations and technical solutions between enterprise systems (both homegrown and commercial).
- Build and maintain integrations using APIs and middleware platforms such as MuleSoft.
- Discerning which platform might make the most sense quickly design and develop intelligent process automations and workflows using LC/NC tools such as Alteryx Blue Prism UiPath Power Automate Workiva.
- Design and interact with relational and noSQL databases including Azure SQL to support automation logic persistence and reporting.
- Apply system architecture principles to ensure automations are scalable maintainable and aligned with enterprise standards.
- Support and implement master data management concepts to ensure data consistency and integrity across automated processes.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify automation opportunities and continuously improve business efficiency.
- Monitor troubleshoot and optimize deployed automations to ensure reliability and performance.
- Document automation designs data flows and integration patterns to support longterm maintainability.
- Architect new data automation solutions or enhancements for existing solutions
Knowledge Skills and amp; Abilities
- Ability to manage cross-functional teams to explore solutions to business problems.
- Extensive experience with automation and integration tools. Some examples include but are not limited to UiPath MuleSoft and Zapier Enterprise.
- Strong foundation of product management including prioritization and documentation of requirements.
- Strong experience designing and consuming APIs for system integration.
- Practical experience with scripting
- Solid understanding of relational databases and SQL including Azure SQL or equivalent platforms.
- Strong system architecture skills with the ability to design endtoend automated solutions.
- Understanding of master data management principles and enterprise data consistency.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with the ability to work independently.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical solutions to nontechnical stakeholders.
- Ability to prioritize multiple initiatives and deliver solutions in a fastpaced environment.
Experience/Education
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Systems Engineering or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Professional experience in automation engineering system integration or related technical roles.
- Dev certification on an RPA platform (UiPath preferred).
- Experience working in enterprise environments supporting multiple business functions.
