Department Overview
Our St. Paul 5th floor is a 26-bed pediatric medical/surgical unit that cares for a spectrum of children from infants to young adults suffering from both acute and chronic medical conditions. Our team of dedicated professionals specializes in the care of patients with diabetes general medical/surgical care and children in acute behavioral health crisis. Our patients have an average length of stay ranging from overnight to several days for a specialty diagnosis. Patients are cared for by strong inter-disciplinary teams that include child life music therapy social work dietitians case managers and other specialists. Our team prides ourselves on teamwork quality care open and respectful communication and promotes a culture of safety while also encouraging learning and professional growth. Our team is committed to providing excellent care to our patients and families every day and love the populations we serve.
Position Summary
Coordinates and provides family-centered nursing care to infants children and adolescents utilizing the nursing process. Accountable for professional practice including independent nursing functions and delegated medical functions performed in collaboration with other health team members.
THIS IS AN MNA CONTRACT POSITION.
Education Requirements:
* Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
* Current Minnesota RN licensure.
* Current BLS certification.
* One (1) year experience (within the last 2 years) working with specialized patient population (e.g. Diabetes Behavioral Health Med/Surg). Pediatric experience preferred. An informational meeting with the Patient Care Manager is required prior to awarding the position.
* Based upon the unit in which you are applying additional certification(s) may be required. Department specific required qualifications need to be obtained within 6 months of employment.
* Current Pediatric Emergency Assessment Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS) certification required or obtained during orientation.

The posted salary represents a market competitive range based on salary survey benchmark data for similar roles in the local or national market. Annual salaries displayed are based on full-time employment (40 standard hrs per week). Annual salaries for part-time positions will be prorated based on the employees scheduled weekly hours in relation to the full-time standard. When determining individual pay rates we carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role the skills education training credentials and experience of the candidate internal equity and organizational needs.
In addition to your salary this position may be eligible for medical dental vision retirement and other fringe benefits. Positions that require night weekend or on-call work may be eligible for shift differentials or premium pay.
