We are seeking a Senior Fabrication Technician who will have the opportunity to apply a wide range of skills while fabricating and assembling a development microreactor unit.

In this role you will be instrumental in building both large and small-scale test rigs creating prototype parts and tooling sourcing tools to execute builds and supporting material handling. You will be an early member of a foundational technician team requiring a high degree of autonomy ownership and initiative.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate piece parts to print using shop equipment (mill lathe welders metal forming tools hand tools etc.)
• Own the assembly and commissioning of test rigs and production builds
• Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis across mechanical electrical thermal and pneumatic systems
• Collaborate with engineers to improve hardware design fabrication and assembly processes
• Maintain high standards of safety reliability and cleanliness
• Support additional tasks as needed in a fast-moving team-oriented environment

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 5 years of fabrication or assembly experience
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and interpret tolerances
• Ability to read and interpret fluid and electrical schematics
• Experience with manufacturing tools (machine tools saws grinders etc.)
• Ability to use inspection tools for parts and assemblies
• Physically capable of standing lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs unassisted
• Comfortable working outdoors as needed
• Ability to work at heights (ladders scissor lifts etc.)
• Willingness to travel occasionally for offsite support

Desired Qualifications

• Experience with high-pressure and high-temperature systems
• MIG and TIG welding experience
• CNC programming and manual machining experience
• GD&T interpretation
• Experience with electrical components and high-voltage systems
• Experience working safely in shop environments
• Experience with rigging and crane operations
• Proficiency with basic computer tools (email Microsoft Office)
