CNC Programmer
Shift: 1st
Pay: $40-$50/hr
- Education of a 2-year degree or better in Mechanical/Production Engineering or Manufacturing or equivalent experience
- Experience using MasterCAM or equivalent with 5 years minimum of CNC programming experience
- Strong technical knowledge or 5 -10 years of experience in the aerospace and/or metal cutting industry
- Knowledge of multi axis CNC mill-turn programming as well as lathe and 4-5 axis mill (experience with WFL mill-turn machines strongly preferred)
- Experience with verification software such as Vericut or Crash Guard strongly preferred
- Familiar with Siemens Mazak Mori-Seiki or similar machine controls
- Proficiency with MS Office applications such as MS Word Excel and PowerPoint.
- Extensive experience in planning writing and managing numerical control programs for control contour path machining of metal parts on automatic machine tools
- Ability to define problem collect data establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
- Experience with AS9100 and aerospace industry requirements.
- Experience with 5S and continuous improvement practices
- Can conform to shifting priorities demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Bilingual desirable.
- Great communications skills
- Knowledge of Flight Safety Procedures desirable.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned)
- Duties may include CAM and machine programming CAD fixture and tooling design operator support and supplier liaison time/cost estimation
- Oversee management of CNC programs on the network drive per the applicable QMS procedures of development and production part programs incl. revision control and archiving
- Analyzes drawings sketches and design data of part to determine dimension and configuration of cuts selection of cutting tools and machine speeds and feed rates
- Evaluates part design requirements and materials to determine CNC machining approach
- Selects cutting tools and machining parameters appropriate for part and material
- Prepares CNC machine setup documents including tooling withholding lists tool setup information and specific set-up instructions
- Observes operation of machine on trial run to prove program and instructions
- Provide full support or assistance to the CNC machine shop on machining problems
- Revise and improve CNC programming when required analyze machine set-ups and tool selections. Look into quality machining and good methods and handling
- Design fixtures clamping and/or work holding methods
- Increase shop productivity by improving existing programs in terms of speed and reliability
- Assist personnel on measuring methods and good understanding of tolerances
- Willingness to support training and cross functional efforts
- Know and execute PAS Management system procedures
