Position Summary:

Aullwood Audubon Center and Farm seeks an energetic and qualified candidate to provide visitor facing support at the front desk Wednesdays through Sundays from April 15th through October 15th. Reporting to the Operations Manager this position assists staff and volunteers in ensuring a positive guest experience across the property including trails facilities events and the Nature Store. The Guest Services Attendant will help visitors feel welcomed informed and engaged while supporting Audubons mission to increase understanding of local regional and hemispheric conservation issues.

This is a seasonal onsite position scheduled for approximately 3640 hours per week for six months requiring regular weekend and weekday shifts including daytime and evening hours as needed to support front desk operations. This position will be required to work holidays and special events as needed. Shifts may vary from week to week.

Hours: Up to 40 per week

Compensation:

$19.00 / hour

Additional Job Description

Essential Functions

  • Assist in carrying out opening and closing tasks for each shift to ensure the building is ready to open to the public (or ready for an event) or secured at closing.

  • Welcome and support visitors to help them feel oriented included and comfortable. Answer visitor questions and inform them of current Aullwood events activities policies and rules.

  • Assist in daily register open and close procedures.

  • Greet members and visitors and take admission for Aullwood property. Promote and sell Audubon memberships.

  • Perform light housekeeping ensuring the reception and lobby areas are neat and organized.

  • Answer phone calls and operate the front desk including maintaining brochures newsletters etc.

  • Sell and promote Aullwood Farm products and Nature Store merchandise at the Nature Store and Gift Shop and the Farm Kiosk.

  • Serve in other capacities as needed to assist with Aullwood operations including but not limited to providing administrative support to staff on projects.

  • Clearly communicate end of shift notes with supervisor.

  • Other job-related duties as assigned.

  • Partner with Audubon staff to foster inclusive and collaborative work environments.

Qualifications and Experience

  • High school degree or equivalent.

  • Valid drivers license.

  • One to three years customer service experience.

  • Strong problem- solving skills independence and resourcefulness.

  • Ability to multi-task.

  • Basic computer proficiency with POS system Microsoft products.

  • Effective organizational and communication skills.

  • Ideally passionate about nature and conservation.

  • Commitment to Audubons organizational values of care collaboration change integrity impact and innovation.

  • Experience engaging with a broad range of stakeholders and communities is preferred.
