Elians British School of La Nucia is a British international school for students aged 118 offering a continuous education from Early Years through to the IB Diploma Programme.

The Role
Teach French and/or German across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (IGCSE) with the opportunity to teach at Key Stage 5 (IB Diploma Programme)
Plan and deliver engaging differentiated lessons in line with the British curriculum and Cambridge IGCSE frameworks as well as the IB Diploma Programme where applicable
Develop students proficiency across reading writing listening and speaking using the target language as the main medium of instruction
Prepare students for external examinations including IGCSE and IB Diploma assessments ensuring strong academic outcomes
Support students through IB Internal Assessments (IA) and oral examinations at Key Stage 5
Contribute to a collaborative and forward-thinking Modern Foreign Languages department ensuring consistency in planning teaching and assessment
Incorporate cultural knowledge and authentic materials to enhance students understanding of French and/or German-speaking countries
Use a range of teaching approaches including communicative and inquiry-based learning to engage and challenge students of all abilities
Provide academic and pastoral support to students particularly those progressing to university pathways where language skills are advantageous
Participate in wider school life including language enrichment activities trips and international-minded initiatives
Candidate Profile
Qualified teacher with a specialism in French and/or German (PGCE QTS or equivalent)
Experience teaching IGCSE and/or IB Diploma Programme is highly desirable
Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver an academically rigorous and engaging language curriculum
Confident teaching across Key Stage 35 with the ability to adapt to both British and IB frameworks
Proven experience preparing students for external examinations including oral assessments
Skilled in delivering student-centred communicative lessons that promote confidence and fluency
Ability to differentiate effectively for a range of learners including EAL students
Internationally minded culturally aware and committed to fostering global citizenship
Able to integrate quickly into an established international school and contribute positively to a collaborative team
