Head Steward

What youll do

We are looking for a Head Steward to join the opening team at SLS Barcelona . Under the guidance of the Director of Food & Beverage the Head Steward will control the inventory of all equipment china cutlery and glassware as well as managing the stewarding team in order to ensure a clean and safe working environment for the Restaurants and Kitchen team.

• Orders and manages necessary supplies. Ensuring workers have supplies equipment tools and uniforms necessary to do their jobs.
• Monitors the inflow of ordered materials and the maintenance of current materials.
• Conducts china glass and silver inventories.
• Controls inventories of food equipment smallware and liquor and report shortages to designated personnel.
• Inspects supplies equipment and work areas in order to ensure efficient service and conformance to standards.
• Manages all equipment china and glass.
• Enforces proper cleaning routines for equipment floors tools etc.
• Enforces proper use and cleaning of all dish room machinery.
• Ensures all food holding and transport equipment is in working order.
• Ensures compliance with food handling and sanitation standard

Qualifications :

What we are looking for...

• 3 years of experience as Chief Steward in a high volume hotel / restaurant.
• Youre a strong team leader a natural at managing and inspiring others in a way that gets the best out of them.
• You combine analytical and methodical thinking with high attention to detail and a solution-focused approach.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Fluent in Spanish.
• You have a solid understanding of local legal compliance requirements.
• You make people feel good - your team guests and colleagues alike.  You make a positive impact.
• You are an excellent relationship builder confident in working with other teams and leaders; youre passionate about what we can achieve together.
• You take ownership of important issues solve problems and make effective decisions.
• You learn quickly and adapt to SLSs unique culture.
