Job Summary

Job Purpose

Lead end-to-end demand and supply planning. The role will support individual or multiple affiliates across Africa. Develop a customer demand forecast which incorporates current and accurate market information showing an unconstrained and constrained view. Develop share and execute a replenishment plan that ensures targeted cost efficiencies and customer service levels.

Key Responsibilities

Demand Forecasting:

  • Collaborate with growth revenue consumer insights brand/marketing customers and sales teams to generate and maintain a 24-month rolling forecast with latest assumptions.
  • Drive and lead accurate statistical and consensus forecasting covering both baseline and events planning.
  • Apply error analysis techniques to improve forecasting update best fit statistical model to generate accurate base forecast.
  • Coordinate cross-functional research activities to reconcile significant variances and refine the forecast model to reflect updated assumptions.
  • Include a view of additional risks and opportunities and track monthly.
  • Ensure monthly S&OP calendar planning related deadlines are strictly adhered to.

Supply Planning

  • Initiate and lead the development of short and long-term supply plans to balance the demand forecast with cost efficiency and capacity constraints.
  • Lead cross-functional monthly meetings with Brand Companies focussed forecasts planned ordering cycle and performance.
  • Ensure shipment forecasts and stock orders are shared with suppliers.
  • Ensure orders and deliveries are made in favourable time frames.
  • Ensure that SLAs are adhered to both by Market Co and Brand Co.
  • Provide feedback on supply risks in monthly S&OP.
  • Drive sustainability and responsibility in supply chain activities.

Systems

  • Refine systems and methods to continually improve forecasts to better anticipate customer and stock requirements.
  • Utilize and maintain demand and supply management software.
  • Enter and modify data and ensure the correctness of product master data.
  • Support planning related projects system upgrades/transitions resolve any system integration and data interface issues that may impact planning activities.

Budget and Financial Forecasting

  • Collaborate with Finance on conversion of volume forecasts to value.
  • Product allocations Incorporate stock constraints and supplier allocations into demand and supply planning and assist commercial to better prioritise limited stock to maximise net sales and manage customer demand. Bi-annual review of allocation demand. Monthly allocations sales tracking to highlight monthly and annual risks.
  • Ensure Replenishment is planned to budgeted inventory aligned with finance.

Business Performance Tracking & Improvement

  • Cross functional collaboration to provide a qualitative and quantitative list of products to be delisted (80/20 principle) to ensure streamlining of the business portfolio.
  • Cross functional collaboration to provide action plans to deplete slow moving stock.
  • Analyse forecast accuracy and bias performance (weekly/daily/monthly) and unpacking market insights and various demand drivers with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Tracking and report NPI performance versus demand plan assumptions with corrective actions.
  • Tracking and reporting of product changes and run in/out modelling.
  • Report projected Inventory Cash valuations and DFC aligned to business targets with analysis on risk and opportunities.
  • Track and report accuracy of replenishment plan with corrective actions to improve forecasts shared with suppliers.
  • Flag potential out of stock risks with root cause and mitigation plans.
  • Global KPI reporting to HQ with analysis and corrective actions

Job Requirements

Minimum Educational Requirements and Work Experience:

  • Degree in Supply Chain Management or equivalent
  • Experience in liquor or FMCG industry preferred.
  • At least 4 years Experience in demand/forecast planning/with forecast tools and ERP systems (eg SAP JDE).
  • Previous exposure on working with statistical forecast is a plus.
  • Exposure to S&OP is a must.
  • High Skill level - Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
