Job Summary
As a Chemist you will primary own and drive analytical and materials characterization to support digital print applications. Applying chemical and materials science principles to understand ink performance reliability and manufacturing behaviour.
The role
bridges formulation development experimental characterization and manufacturing problem solving supporting new technology introduction as well as ongoing production robustness.
You will be expected to operate with a high degree of independence exercise sound scientific judgment and influence technical direction through data-driven insights.
The
role involves close collaboration with cross-functional partners and provides opportunities to take on technical leadership or project ownership for complex challenges.

What a formulation and analytical Chemist does at HP:
Apply analytical and materials characterization techniques to understand ink and raw material behavior including functional components and material interactions to meet performance quality and regulatory requirements.
Contribute to the development optimization and sustainment of ink formulations through strong analytical insight with opportunities to take on increased formulation ownership over time.
Lead analytical analysis investigations into ink-related development and manufacturing issues connecting formulation chemistry material behavior and process conditions to identify root causes and corrective actions.
Partner closely with ink manufacturing R&D and laboratory teams to support process development scale-up readiness qualification activities and technology introduction.
Serve as a technical subject matter contributor in formulation chemistry and/or materials characterization influencing formulation strategies and technical direction.
Strengthen and sustain analytical chemistry technical capability including methods best practices and knowledge sharing across formulation and characterization activities.
Represent the formulation and materials characterization function in
cross-functional projects with opportunities to act as a technical or project lead for complex initiatives.
Communicate technical findings clearly and effectively through written reports and discussions to support timely data-driven decision making.

Individuals who do well in this role at HP usually possess:
PHD or Masters degree in Chemistry Chemical Engineering Material Science or a related field.
Typically 5 years of experience in analytical chemistry or material characterization ideally applied to complex chemical or materials systems in ink or materials development in a related industrial environment.
Strong foundation in chemical formulation principles or the ability to apply analytical insight to formulation-driven systems with strong experimental design and data interpretation.
Experience applying analytical experimental or characterization methods to understand chemical or materials systems in R&D or manufacturing contexts.
Ability to apply techniques in Chromatography Spectroscopy Elemental Analysis Thermal measurement or Particle Size & Physical measurement tools.
Demonstrated ability to work independently take ownership of technical problems and collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
Proven records in leading formulation studies technical investigations or project workstreams is strongly preferred.
