Senior Accountant

Whats This Role Really Like

This role is essentially responsible for preparation of Tax deliverables preparation of MAS and Financial Statements (FRS) adhoc BAU reporting requirements key liaison of external audits and participate in process improvement activities and adhoc projects.

Areas of Responsibilities

1. Process improvement and documentation:

• Participate in process improvement projects such as process changes for automation of certain reporting processes using Alteryx.

• Contribute to UAT testing for system enhancements

• Assist in the documentation of processes and in the process share ideas for more efficiency.

2. BAU Activities:

• Preparation of MAS returns and Financial Statements

• Be the key point of contact of audit liaising with auditors and internal stakeholders

• Preparation of data for finance monitoring and review

• Extraction and preparation of information for tax computation

• Perform ad-hoc duties as and when assigned

• Proven ability for accuracy and attention to details

• Able to work independently and with a team

• Able to work under pressure; Results oriented and observe deadlines

• Process driven

• Self-motivated and equipped with the energy and enthusiasm to manage new initiatives challenge the norm and seek out solutions independently and executes them

• Proactive confident resilient and flexible

• Strong time management skill with ability to balance multiple priorities tasks and projects while maintaining appropriate documentation/records

• Good communication and interpersonal skills

• High level of IT literacy (Microsoft Excel Peoplesoft or similar accounting systems Alteryx Designer) with the ability to think laterally and make optimal use of the technology available.

• A degree in Accountancy or equivalent.
• Over 4 years relevant experience in finance reporting. Big 4 and Insurance industry experience is preferred.
