Business Unit Controller AAP

Role description:

• With the BA Controller develop an in-country finance strategy focused on maximizing shareholder value associated with the GBA encompassing all value creation levers (e.g. capital allocation capital structure portfolio strategy governance) with effective communication to internal & external stakeholders.

• Support the Finance Transformation team in identifying and implementing opportunities to streamline finance support and remove overhead via the Global Shared Service Centre standardisation and automation.

• Streamline project status and performances.

• Create strong analysis on project P&L and control.

• Supports projects within a business unit with portfolios.

• Support business unit controller interpret month end results.

Role Accountabilities:

• Act as a business partner to support the Business Leaders and BA Controller for decision making:
• Be a forward looking proactive Finance partner providing insightful advice and challenge to the business in all areas of performance.
• In conjunction with the Business Area Controller support the development and completion of the financial plans and forecasts.
• Track and report the financial performance of the BU in country ensuring integrity is maintained in all governance and compliance areas.
• Provide insightful analysis on business performance and trends with a forward-looking lens and driving action as required across the business.
• Drive Working Capital performance to exceed targets.
• Be an active participant and contributor in the sale and bid processes assisting the leadership to drive profitable growth.
• Be a champion for change.
• Lead the Finance function in country:
• Report financial KPIs project and P&L performance management reporting and analysis (profitability net working capital and cashflow) accurately and transparently enabling effective decision making for Project Managers and Functional Management.
• Coordinate the BU budget develop outlook & forecast capabilities and develop mitigation plan to support target achievements.
• Ensure a high level of collaboration and coordination is maintained with the other BU Controllers and the In Country Accounting lead to ensure consistency in service delivery and compliance including meeting all the financial statutory obligations of the country.
• Interact with global finance team:
• Roll out in the country-BA the processes and methods designed centrally.
• Ensure standardization within the GBA and with other GBAs avoiding customization of systems and processes.
• Ensure maximum use of and alignment to all the GSSC Finance teams (e.g. AP AR Accounting Project accounting)
• Ensure a high level of collaboration is maintained with the wider GBA Finance team including other BU Controllers across all GBAs Centres of Excellence FP&A and Group Control

Qualifications skills & experience:

• Bachelors Degree in Accountancy or any business related course
• At least 5 years of relevant working experience.
• Post-graduate qualifications an advantage (CPA/CA/CIMA)
• Demonstrated technical commercial and delivery acumen.
• Strong communication and relationship building skills both internally and externally
• The ability to multitask and adhere to deadlines.
• Exposure in Shared Service or Multinational environment is required;
• Advanced Knowledge and experience in ERP Systems is preferred
• Advanced experience in Microsoft applications (Excel Outlook PowerPoint and Word) is required;
• Articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills in English Language;
• Strong analytical research capabilities and problem-solving skills with the ability to challenge conventional thinking;
• Ability to independently organize prioritize and manage multiple tasks and come to conclusions for recommendations.
• Continuous improvement mindset increasing task efficiency and effectiveness with each product or service repetition
• A detail-oriented and passionate to acquire share and disseminate new information and knowledge;
• A highly organized and self-driven to learn new concepts and participate in new projects;
