These radar systems consist of active electronically scanned phased array antennas that combine different technological disciplines at high levels of integration.

The development of modern phased array radars requires a multi-disciplinary approach in which thefunctional concept antenna electronics and cooling infrastructure are addressed simultaneously enabling the introduction and development of new radar front ends; the working area consists the design implementation and realization of new antenna and/or microwave concepts including packaging and introduction of new technologies.

For the department Radar Front-end Engineering we are in search of an enthusiastic professional with the ambition to innovate our radars in the job of:

About the job
Your work will cover the full spectrum of activities from development to product realization aiming to achieve high system performance combined with affordable cost levels. You act in close cooperation with other disciplines (i.e. system design RF/Microwave mechanics and manufacturing) often in an international environment. Several roles can be distinguished in this process including concept development detailed design or work package management. You are encouraged to develop further in one of these directions depending on personal interests.

You will be responsible for the Radar front-end design covering RF IF digital and packaging concepts. You can act as technical liaison for Thales in projects where design parts are subcontracted to external companies both national and international.

To support our continuing innovation in the field of radar front-ends you participate in technology
studies both internal within Thales and external in cooperation with other high tech companies
research institutes and universities. Your work will cover the full spectrum of activities from innovation development to product realization aiming to achieve high system performance combined with affordable cost levels.

About you

  • You have a Master degree in Mechanical Electrical Engineering or Applied Physics with at least 8 yrs of work experience;

  • You have a can-do and why-not-this mentality: creative entrepreneurial flexible and open mindset enabling to think across boundaries;

  • You are enthusiastic persistent and flexible;

  • You are an independent team player with strong dedication to achieve common team goals;

  • You have good interpersonal skills with the ability to manage expectations and explain technical detail at different levels;

  • You are fluent in English both verbal and written
