Core Responsibilities:

The Americas Manufacturing Corporate Counsel is part of Legal Compliance and Risk Management (LCR) which is the global Legal Department for the LEGO Group. Much of the legal work is done either by LCR representatives interacting with Business Units across the LEGO Group in conjunction with staff in the Legal Support and Administrative Support functions.

  • LCRs point of contact for all legal issues for this particular business unit globally in all areas of the law.
  • Securing alignment between Americas Manufacturing needs and LCRs services and managing expectations.
  • Completing all legal work requested/needed.
  • Advisor to Americas Manufacturing Level 3 Organization.
  • Provide frequent training to the Americas Manufacturing L3 and their reports one level below on Stewardship Compliance and Ethics.
  • Knowledge sharing and co-ordination within the LCR Regional Team the LCR organization in general.

As a Corporate Counsel you will support the LCR Representative for the Americas Manufacturing (AM) Business Unit. Serve as point of contact for legal issues for Americas Manufacturing related to the operation of the Manufacturing Site located in Monterrey Mexico.

By working at the LEGO Group as a Corporate Counsel for Americas Manufacturing you contribute to Inspire The Builders of Tomorrow by ensuring that the company plays fair and observe business conduct.

Do you have what it takes:

  • Law School Degree specializing in Corporate and Commercial Law or equivalent experience
  • Experience in legal counseling in labor environmental administrative intellectual property and company law in general.
  • Is required Experience in legal counseling in complex multinational corporate environment preferably from a corporate legal department or from a law firm.
  • Knowledge of Ethics and Corporate Compliance is also required.
  • Preferably experience in dealing with government Officials in the three levels of government.
  • Preferably international work experience and/or International experience during studies.
  • Experience in providing legal counseling to Manufacturing sites is a plus.
  • Proven global experience from inhouse or private practice preferred within the IPR legal area particularly in the digital space
  • Curious approach in understanding how the online consumer platforms and the internet work and discovering new trends of IPR infringements online
  • Contract law (especially within procurement) Real Estate law HR/Labor/Employment law Company law and Legal Governance and Compliance knowledge.
  • Nice to Have: Negotiation skills Antitrust/Competition law Intellectual Property law Environmental law for companies knowledge in Health and Safety Regulations experience with governmental entities and compliance with regulations and Construction law.
  • Project management & data analytical skills
  • Written and Verbal English Proficient
