As the Vice President of Manufacturing for Latin America at Stanley Black & Decker you will bring energy vision and a relentless passion for excellence to lead and inspire manufacturing operations across multiple sites in the region. Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and execute manufacturing strategies for Latin America in alignment with SBDs regional and global objectives.
- Lead mentor and develop plant managers and manufacturing teams to build a high-performing engaged organization.
- Represent the Latin America manufacturing function in regional and global leadership meetings and projects.
- Champion change management initiatives and support organizational transformation as needed.
- Represent LAG Manufacturing on the Mexico Eco-System development team.
Operations Management
- Oversee daily operations of multiple manufacturing sites ensuring consistent application of SBD best practices policies and procedures.
- Manage regional manufacturing budgets forecasts and capital expenditures to achieve financial targets.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure safety quality productivity and cost objectives are consistently met or exceeded.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
- Drive operational excellence through Lean Manufacturing Six Sigma and other SBD continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify and implement new technologies and automation to enhance efficiency quality and competitiveness.
- Leverage digitization to bring information to the Makers in real time to assist in decision making with less bureaucracy and bias.
Collaboration & Cross-Functional Partnership
- Collaborate with Engineering Commercial Supply Chain Quality EHS and other departments to optimize processes support new product introductions and resolve operational challenges.
- Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support business objectives.
- Represent Manufacturing with our NPD initiatives delivering new products for our end users faster and with higher quality standards.
Compliance & Culture
- Ensure full compliance with all regulatory environmental and Stanley Black & Decker standards across all sites.
- Foster a culture of safety accountability E2E process ownership and continuous improvement throughout the region in line with SBDs core values.
Key Performance Indicators
- Cost to Produce:Manufacturing costs are maintained in line with site targets with ongoing cost reductions achieved through Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Quality:Drive a zero-defect culture to enhance customer satisfaction measured by DPMO (Defects Per Million Opportunities) and other key quality metrics.
- On-Time Production:Ensure daily production schedules are met with on-time completion and delivery of products in line with customer and business requirements.
- Safety:Foster a zero-incident safety culture within all manufacturing sites implementing best practices and ensuring strict adherence to SBDs Critical Risk Roadmap and Cardinal Rules.
- People:Build and develop a world-class manufacturing team that consistently challenges targets and drives operational excellence. Create a robust talent pipeline through coaching cross-training and leadership development.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelors degree in Engineering Manufacturing Operations Management or a related field; Masters degree preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in manufacturing or operations management with significant leadership responsibility including at least 3 years in a multi-site or regional management capacity.
- Proven track record of managing manufacturing operations across multiple countries or regions.
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Six Sigma and other process improvement methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to lead motivate and develop diverse teams across multiple locations and cultures.
- Excellent communication interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with budget management and strategic planning.
- Proficiency in manufacturing management systems and digital tools.
- In-depth understanding of the Latin America including regulatory requirements and cultural nuances.
- Ability to travel frequently within Latin America.
- Sites include 4 in Mexico (Reynosa Monterrey Nogales Puebla) 1 in San Luis Argentina 2 in Brazil (Carlos Barbosa Uberaba).
