Job Summary:
Lead and manage the overall operations of the Materials Department to ensure effective planning procurement control and utilization of materials in support of engineering project execution. Responsible for ensuring timely supply quality compliance and cost-effective material management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee material planning in line with project schedules demand forecasts and site requirements Manage material receiving inspection and quality control to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards
- Establish and implement inventory management strategies ensuring stock accuracy safety and proper storage
- Lead documentation management for material certifications inspection records and submission to relevant stakeholders
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor material storage usage and compliance with safety and quality requirements
- Develop and implement processes for scrap and surplus material handling to optimize cost and resource utilization
- Coordinate closely with internal departments subcontractors and suppliers to ensure smooth material flow
- Lead supervise and develop the materials team to achieve operational efficiency
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Job Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree or Diploma in Engineering Supply Chain Materials Management or related field
- Minimum 58 years of experience in material management preferably in engineering or project-based environments
- Strong knowledge of material planning inventory control and quality management processes
- Familiar with ERP systems (e.g. SAP Oracle) Proven leadership and team management experience
- Strong problem-solving coordination and communication skills
