Job Summary

1. Prevention of Conduct Violations Behavioral Risk Management:

1) Organization and implementation of preventive and informational activities aimed to inform students about University policies and rules the most common disciplinary violations and taken measures for committing them in a timely manner with the purpose of preventing incidents and forming conscious compliance with established requirements;

2) Ensuring that students are regularly and readily informed about typical violations and their consequences by preparing explanatory materials participating in orientation and prevention sessions and using the Universitys official communication channels;

3) Using data on disciplinary incidents and feedback from students to update preventive messages identify areas of risk and improve the effectiveness of information work to prevent repeat violations.

2. Coordination of Disciplinary and Educational Policy:

1) Assisting in ensuring students comply with the Code of Conduct Housing Rules and other internal regulations.

2) Participating in disciplinary proceedings related to non-academic violations.

3) Maintaining a database of disciplinary cases systematizing information and identifying recurring patterns.

4) Supporting the development of a culture of respectful responsible and inclusive behavior among students.

5) Contributing to the formation of ethical and educational programs within the University.

3. Interaction and Communication:

1) Participating in Orientation Week for freshmen and their representatives conducting informational sessions.

2)  Providing consultative support to School administrations and other services.

3) Collaborating with the Communications Manager and Manager for Leadership and Involvement of the Department to update information on web pages and internal platforms.

4) Supporting coordinated communications on issues of discipline and social support.

5) Participating in activities aimed at strengthening student solidarity and moral education.

4. Development of Initiatives and Project Support:

1) Developing and implementing projects to enhance social protection and disciplinary culture among students.

2) Supporting and implementing educational preventive and developmental events.

3) Participating in the development and improvement of internal regulations and normative documents.

4) Initiating and supporting projects targeting specific student groups.

5) Establishing and maintaining partnerships with external organizations and government bodies (e.g. social protection agencies funds crisis centers) regarding student support.

6) Monitoring best practices in student discipline and social support (in local and international universities) and developing proposals for their adaptation.

5. Social Support for Students:

1) Organizing the intake of applications verifying documents and compiling lists of students belonging to socially vulnerable categories.

2) Supporting the work of the Student Support Committee preparing meeting minutes and ensuring compliance with internal Social Policy.

3) Developing proposals to improve social assistance mechanisms and participating in the creation of regulatory and methodological documents.

4) Consulting students applicants and their legal representatives on support and guarantees.

5) Facilitating assistance to students in emergency/crisis situations in cooperation with other services.

6) Preparing statistics presentations and analytical materials on social issues for management.


Qualifications :

Higher professional education in psychology management educational administration business administration or public administration.

1) At least 3 years of relevant work experience

2) At least 1 year of relevant work experience with a Masters degree in a related field


Additional Information :

Knowledge skills and competencies requirements: 

Knowledge:

1) Knowledge of the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the fields of education culture youth policy human rights and anti-discrimination;

2) Familiarity with international standards and best practices in student rights protection and the creation of safe inclusive educational environments;

3) Proficiency in MS Office programs: Word Excel PowerPoint;

4) Understanding of internal University policies and regulations including the Student Code of Conduct disciplinary procedures Anti-Harassment Policy Social Policy and Housing Rules;

5) Knowledge of conflict resolution crisis psychology mediation techniques as well as principles of civic and moral education for youth.

6) Knowledge of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan On the status of Nazarbayev University Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools and Nazarbayev Fund as well as other legislative and regulatory acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of higher and postgraduate education.

Skills:

1) Skills in strategic planning and coordination of student support initiatives including crisis response mechanisms;

2) Ability to conduct investigations and prepare reports and conclusions on cases related to conduct violations;

3) Proficiency in mediation student advising and support in situations involving stress conflict or pressure;

4) Skills in data collection analysis and presentation (including statistics and case studies) and the preparation of analytical briefs memos and presentations;

5) Experience in building partnerships and liaising with governmental non-governmental and international organizations.

Competences:

1) Ability to systematically design and implement processes for students social legal and psychological support;

2) Capacity to identify and mitigate behavioral and disciplinary risks through preventive programs and student engagement;

3) Competence in managing disciplinary and educational processes;

4) Strong verbal and written communication skills;

5) Ability to foster a culture of accountability and respectful behavior among students;

6) Capacity to work effectively under uncertainty tight deadlines and high workload conditions.

Language requirements: 

Fluent in Kazakh Russian and English for effective business correspondence documentation analytical materials interaction with students and other structural departments consultants and partners
