Job description
Our client is inviting applications for a Locum Consultant Paediatrician to join a dedicated paediatric team delivering high-quality care to infants children and adolescents within the HSE. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a supportive patient-focused environment. The contract is starting 15 June 2026 for 6 months.
Key Responsibilities
Provide consultant-level care in general paediatrics across inpatient and outpatient settings
Participate in acute paediatric services including on-call rota
Assess diagnose and manage a wide range of paediatric conditions
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including nursing allied health and other specialties
Contribute to clinical governance audit and service development
Supervise and support junior medical staf
Job requirements
Registration as a specialist in Paediatrics with the Irish Medical Council or eligibility for same
Relevant experience at consultant level (or equivalent)
Strong clinical organisational and communication skills
Commitment to high standards of patient care
Desirable Criteria
Experience in acute paediatrics or a relevant subspecialty
Previous experience within the Irish healthcare system
Interest in teaching training and quality improvement initiatives
