We are seeking an enthusiastic and technically proficient Chemistry Teacher to join a high-energy Science faculty in Basildon. We are looking for an educator who can navigate the rigours of the central science while fostering a safe inquisitive and high-achieving laboratory culture.

Core Responsibilities

• Curriculum Delivery: Planning and facilitating high-impact Chemistry lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. The ability to teach A-Level Chemistry (including organic synthesis and thermodynamics) is highly desirable.

• Practical Laboratory Leadership: Leading rigorous and safe practical investigationsfrom titration and chromatography to complex chemical synthesisensuring students develop meticulous experimental skills.

• GCSE & A-Level Success: Guiding students through the AQA or Edexcel specifications utilizing data-driven interventions to ensure every learner achieves or exceeds their target grade in Triple and Combined Science.

• Quantitative Mastery: Supporting students in mastering the mathematical foundations of Chemistry including mole calculations stoichiometry and gas laws.

• STEM Advocacy: Promoting careers in chemical engineering pharmacology and green technology and leading extracurricular initiatives like the Royal Society of Chemistry competitions or Chemistry clubs.

• Pastoral Leadership: Serving as a dedicated Form Tutor providing a supportive environment and monitoring the academic and personal development of a specific group of students.

Candidate Profile

• Qualifications: Must hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) and a degree in Chemistry or a related Chemical Science. Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are warmly encouraged to apply.
