Junior Mechanical Engineer HVAC

Job Summary
This is a site-based role though candidates must be within commutable distance of Bridgwater or open to relocating with support available for the right individual.
As a Junior HVAC Engineer you will support the delivery of HVAC systems across a major nuclear construction programme gaining hands-on experience in a complex highly regulated environment. You will play a key role in resolving on-site technical challenges and ensuring installation activities progress safely and efficiently.
Support HVAC installation works in line with engineering drawings and specifications
Assist in responding to technical queries raised by construction teams
Review field change requests and non-conformance reports for clarity and accuracy
Liaise with design and engineering teams to resolve site issues
Help track engineering issues and contribute to performance reporting
Identify and escalate installation or documentation non-conformances
Maintain clear communication between site teams and engineering stakeholders
Support consistent application of approved engineering solutions on site
Qualifications :
Nuclear experience is not essential but is of course welcome. If you have worked within a highly regulated environment your skills and approach are highly transferable and of strong interest to us.
We also recognise that the perfect candidate rarely exists. If you feel you meet around 80% of the criteria and are motivated to develop further we would strongly encourage you to apply
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline
Some experience within construction engineering or industrial environments
Understanding of HVAC systems or building services fundamentals
Strong problem-solving skills with a structured approach
Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders
High attention to detail when reviewing technical documentation
Collaborative mindset with willingness to learn from experienced engineers
Ability to manage workload in a fast-paced site environment
