Job Summary
A vacancy will arise for a Major to serve asSO2 Safety Training and Promotionat HQ JAC Marlborough Lines Andover on FTRS - Home Commitment Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS) with an initial proposed start date of 13 Oct 2026.
Unit Function:JAC is to prepare generate and sustain Battlefield Helicopter and Unmanned Avn to meet UK Fixed and Responsive Tasks capable of interoperability with key partners. The JAC will support the JEF with Avn C2 LIFT ATTACK and FIND capability
Position Role: SO2 Assurance is responsible for routine Air Safety Assurance activity including preparation of Air Safety Assurance Visits staffing of associated reports and follow up of audit recommendations to support JACs missions and tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in 2nd Party (2PA) Risk Based Assurance (RBA) activity within the JAC Regulated Community (RC) iaw the JAC ASMP.
- Conduct 1st Party AS Assurance (1PA) within the JAC HQ.
- Provide advice and guidance on all aspects of AS Assurance across JAC.
- Assist SO2 Air Safety Assurance Team Leader in day to day running of the Assurance Visits administrative burden.
- Conduct Continuous Assurance Surveillance on JAC units document evidence to support the Annual Assurance Estimate.
- Assist ASAT TL in updating JAC ASMP Pillar 3 (Safety Assurance) and specified Supporting Leaflets.
- All other tasks as required by the AS CofC.
