Job Purpose
- The Attendance Support Officer will work directly with pupils families schools and partner agencies to improve attendance engagement and attainment across educational settings. The postholder will identify and address barriers to attendance support reintegration plans carry out attendance audits and ensure compliance with education legislation while contributing to safeguarding practice
Key Duties/Accountabilities
- Work collaboratively with schools and partner agencies to identify and address attendance concerns.
- Conduct home visits to assess barriers support reintegration plans and encourage positive attendance.
- Mentor pupils on attendance matters providing early intervention to prevent escalation.
- Build productive relationships with parents/carers encouraging engagement in the education process.
- Carry out research into effective attendanceimprovement strategies and apply findings to practice.
- Undertake attendance audits within schools and contribute to Attendance Improvement Plans.
- Liaise with multiagency partners including Childrens Services third-sector organisations and the police attending meetings as required.
Essential Experience Required
- Experience working with children young people and families in an education social care youth work or community setting.
- Experience supporting individuals facing complex barriers such as nonattendance behavioural issues or welfare concerns.
- Experience conducting home visits and engaging with parents/carers to address challenges.
- Experience working collaboratively with schools and multiagency partners.
- Strong experience in maintaining accurate records handling sensitive information and reporting concerns (including safeguarding).
Essential Qualifications Required
- Relevant qualification in Education Youth Work Social Care Behaviour Support or related field (or equivalent experience).

- Working hours: 37 hours per week
- Lambpit Street Wrexham Wrexham Principal Area LL11 1AR United Kingdom
- Office in schools 50%
- Home visits in the community 50% in all weathers. Home visits to some unhygienic homes.
- We work on Bi weekly payment schedule
