Mechanical Engineer
Job Summary
The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the engineering coordination and technical support of mechanical systems in EPC projects ensuring that designs installations and commissioning activities comply with project specifications applicable standards and regulatory requirements throughout engineering execution and handover.
Description:
1- Prepare review and verify mechanical designs calculations and drawings
2- Develop technical specifications datasheets and BOQs for mechanical systems
3- Prepares procurement schedules coordinates inspection plans approvals and implementation and monitors accomplishments of mechanical works
4- Ensure designs comply with project requirements international standards and local regulations
5- Supervise installation of mechanical systems (e.g. piping HVAC pumps valves)
6- Prepares mechanical and Electromechanical work plans scope of work bill of quantities and cost estimates
7- Develops/reviews design drawings and as-built drawings of mechanical systems and coordinates approvals
8- Assists project execution teams in day-to-day mechanical work activities to accomplish project goals and objectives
9- Support procurement by preparing technical bid evaluations and vendor clarifications.
10- Provide technical support during the installation testing and commissioning of mechanical systems
11- Ensure compliance with quality standards inspection plans and testing procedures
12- Ensure proper documentation as-built drawings and O&M manuals are completed
13- Responsible for correspondence maintaining close coordination and attending meetings with the client consultants and other involved agencies
14- Assures the maintenance and safeguarding of all documentation approvals progress reports instructions and other records
15- Responsible for successful completion and handing over of the completed mechanical systems and subsystems
Requirements
Special training technology use and language skills:
1- PMP Certificate
2- AutoCAD
3- Mechanical codes and standards
4- Primavera P6 / MS Project
5- Basics of Electromechanical designs
COMPETENCIES:
1 Practical experience in the design/execution of mechanical systems and subsystems such as HVAC plumbing firefighting overhead cranes etc.
2 Expertise in mechanical systems for water energy or utility infrastructure
3 Knowledge of testing commissioning and operation of mechanical equipment
4 Capable of writing and presenting formal installation procedures and guidelines for mechanical installations
5 Ability to read and interpret drawings layouts and technical specifications.
6 Organized in tracking materials schedules and punch lists
7 Ability to work within project schedules and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
8 Problem-solving skills supervision skills and guiding capabilities
9 Familiar with industrial security and safety requirements and their implementation
Educational degree:
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering
