As a T4 Wi Fi Engineer you will lead the integration of advanced Wi Fi solutions into our automotive product platforms ensuring robust secure and high performance wireless connectivity across digital cockpit systems telematics controllers and next generation vehicle compute architectures. You will own Wi Fi architecture chipset bring up RF enablement Android and Linux/QNX driver integration middleware interfacing and system level validation.

• Senior technical leader for Wi Fi integration across multiple automotive programs.
• Collaborate with BSP driver RF Android framework system architecture and hardware teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and influence direction of multi disciplinary connectivity initiatives.
• Support program managers and architects defining long term automotive connectivity strategy.

• Lead Wi Fi integration in automotive ECUs (IVI domain controllers gateways).
• Integrate Wi Fi chipsets from NXP Cypress/Infineon and other vendors (Qualcomm Broadcom MediaTek).
• Optimize Wi Fi drivers firmware HAL layers and vendor SDKs for Linux QNX or Android automotive systems.
• Work extensively with the Android Connectivity Framework including:
  • Wi Fi HAL (HIDL/AIDL)
  • supplicant/hostapd integration
  • WifiManager WifiService ConnectivityService
  • Vendor extensions and OEM hooks
  • Android automotive specific Wi Fi use cases (hotspot provisioning passenger profiles OTA)
• Ensure compliance with and deep understanding of multiple Wi Fi standards:
  • 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax (Wi Fi 6/6E)
  • 802.11i (security)
  • 802.11p (automotive DSRC)
  • 802.11ad/ay (60 GHz where relevant)
• Perform deep protocol level debugging using air sniffer logs (Wireshark OmniPeek vendor analyzers) to identify and resolve MAC/PHY issues.
• Define automotive Wi Fi KPIs and ensure KPIs are met across roaming latency throughput and coexistence.
• Drive coexistence optimization between Wi Fi/Bluetooth/GNSS/UWB/LTE 5G.
• Partner with hardware teams for antenna design PCB layout review RF calibration and certification readiness.
• Support OTA hotspot provisioning Soft AP and customer specific automotive connectivity features.
• Lead certification efforts (FCC/CE/TELEC Wi Fi Alliance OEM specific validations).
• Engage directly with OEMs Tier 1 suppliers and silicon partners to define requirements and drive issue resolution.
• Promote platform reuse and modular Wi Fi architecture across multiple automotive product lines.

Education

• Bachelors or Masters degree in EE CE CS Telecommunications or related field.

Experience

• Embedded connectivity development with strong experience integrating Wi Fi in automotive systems.
• Proven expertise with Wi Fi chipsets from NXP Cypress/Infineon and other silicon vendors such as Qualcomm Broadcom MediaTek.
• Strong hands on experience with the Android Connectivity Framework including HAL supplicant integration framework services and OEM customizations.
• Deep knowledge of multiple Wi Fi standards:
  • 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax
  • 802.11 e/k/r/v/w
  • 802.11 i
  • 802.11 mc
  • 802.11 p
  • 802.11 ad/ay (if applicable)
• Expert in analyzing air sniffer logs and resolving protocol level issues (MAC/PHY).
• Strong programming skills in Java (Android framework) and C (drivers HAL middleware).
• Skilled in SDIO/PCIe/USB interfaces MAC/PHY debugging RF bring up and antenna performance evaluation.
• Experience with automotive cybersecurity (UNECE R155/R156) OTA connectivity workflows and OEM validation processes.
• Proven track record in debugging and optimizing Wi Fi performance on automotive ECUs.
• Strong communication skills and experience working directly with OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers.
