API Developer

Business Title : Software Engineer II

Level : P2

We are looking for a highly skilled P2-level API Developer with strong experience in designing developing and integrating APIs for enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in building scalable secure RESTful services and working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design develop and maintain RESTful APIs using industry best practices.

• Integrate APIs with backend systems databases and third-party services.

• Optimize API performance scalability and security.

• Collaborate with Product QA DevOps and Architecture teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.

• Troubleshoot and resolve API-related performance or functional issues.

• Maintain up-to-date API documentation (Swagger/OpenAPI).

• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.

• Ensure adherence to secure coding standards and compliance guidelines.

Required Skills

• Strong proficiency in API development using (choose based on your tech stack):

  / Express

  Java / Spring Boot

  .NET Core

  Python / FastAPI / Flask

• Hands-on experience with REST APIs JSON OAuth2 JWT API gateways.

• Solid understanding of microservices architecture.

• Strong knowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Git.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS Azure or GCP.

Nice-to-Have

• Experience with GraphQL gRPC.

• Knowledge of containerized applications (Docker Kubernetes).

• Exposure to API monitoring tools (New Relic Splunk Postman etc.).

• Understanding of DevOps practices.

Key responsibilities

• Performs software engineering within the process framework established by the Team. This framework will describe how requirements are developed and analyzed how changes are made to requirements how engineering work will be planned and tracked how testing will be performed and the criteria by which the performance of the project will be measured.

• Creates software designs and implements and tests those designs to meet established requirements

• Participates in technical/design reviews as required

• As necessary works independently or with quality assurance personnel to plan and execute product testing

• Other duties as required and requested by management

Skill sets:

• 3-5 years of experience in software product development.

• Solid understanding of Object Oriented Programing Concepts

• Proficiency in Java and Python programming.

• Experience in UI development (React JS)

• Experience in microservices based Architecture

• Solid hands-on programming experience in Java developing high-quality readable code.

• Experience with RDBMS and No SQL databases.

• Good working knowledge on Linux

• Good exposure to Continuous integration tools Cloud Deployments and Scripting.

• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

• Self-starter and Passionate to learn new technologies

Good to have

• Experience with any one of the Gateway (AWS/Azure/WSO2/Apigee) functionalities.

• Self driven go getter.
