Reimbursement Specialist (3012)
Job Summary
The Reimbursement Specialist supports accurate patient registration laboratory test ordering and reimbursement processes for Outreach services. This role serves as a key liaison between clients the Business Office and internal departments to ensure billing information is complete appropriately coded and submitted in a timely manner. Working within a collaborative revenue and laboratory support team the Specialist contributes to consistent workflows clear communication and reliable service delivery. The position functions in a structured detail-focused environment where accuracy responsiveness and teamwork are essential. Through attention to detail and a service-oriented approach the Reimbursement Specialist supports revenue integrity regulatory compliance and a positive customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Register Outreach patients in the electronic system and accurately enter laboratory orders in accordance with established procedures.
- Respond to client inquiries regarding billing statements and reimbursement processes with professionalism and clear communication.
- Apply knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding principles to support accurate claim submission and reimbursement.
- Coordinate with the Business Office to resolve billing issues clarify account information and support follow-up activities.
- Prepare and distribute monthly client statements and related documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
- Perform general office and clerical duties including data entry record maintenance and document handling to support daily operations.

Educational Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience Requirements:
- Office/clerical experience required preferably billing or insurance claim processing.
- Computer experience required.
Special Skills or Training Requirements:
- Good communication skills required.
- Ability to type quickly and accurately required.
- Medical terminology and coding knowledge helpful but not required.
Physical Requirements:
This role requires prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer with frequent keyboarding and data entry. Occasional standing walking bending and light lifting of files or office supplies may be necessary. Adequate vision hearing and manual dexterity are required to read screens process information accurately and communicate effectively.
Environmental Requirements:
The Reimbursement Specialist works in a professional office or clinic support environment with routine exposure to computers phones and office equipment. The role involves sustained attention to detail frequent interaction with clients and staff and adherence to deadlines. Compliance with confidentiality data security and organizational safety policies is required with minimal exposure to physical or environmental hazards.
