Location: Modesto CA 95350
Employment Type: Contract (13 Weeks) Potential for Extension
Shift: Evening Shift 3:30 PM 11:00 PM
Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and customer-focused Transportation Technician to support the safe and timely delivery and pickup of sterilized surgical instruments. This role plays a key part in ensuring efficient logistics operations and maintaining high standards of service within a healthcare environment.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles (van/truck) for scheduled deliveries and pickups
- Follow GPS routing to ensure timely and efficient service
- Load and unload instrument carts and totes with care
- Obtain proof of delivery (POD) and complete required documentation
- Maintain professional communication with client sites and internal teams
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks
- Ensure compliance with DOT regulations safety standards and company policies
- Accurately track deliveries fuel usage and service logs
- Follow infection control protocols and PPE requirements
- Support additional logistics and operational tasks as needed
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of commercial or route-based driving experience
- Strong GPS navigation and time management skills
- Ability to push/pull carts up to 400 lbs
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- High attention to detail and reliability
- Ability to follow procedures and complete documentation accurately
- Familiarity with safety and infection control practices
