Job Title: Facilities Technician
Location: Elmhurst IL
Job Type: Contract (13 Weeks)
Schedule: Night Shift 40 Hours/Week
Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Facilities Technician to support the maintenance and operation of building systems in a healthcare or industrial environment. This role is responsible for performing preventive maintenance troubleshooting facility issues and ensuring a safe clean and efficient working environment.
Responsibilities
Building Systems & Maintenance
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on HVAC electrical plumbing and building systems
- Conduct routine inspections to identify wear potential failures and safety concerns
- Complete basic repairs including lighting minor leaks filter changes and equipment adjustments
- Assist in monitoring building automation systems and report any alarms or irregularities
Operations & Troubleshooting
- Respond promptly to maintenance work orders to minimize operational disruptions
- Troubleshoot and resolve routine facility issues; escalate complex problems as needed
- Participate in emergency response procedures and after-hours on-call rotation if required
Facility Upkeep & Support
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of mechanical rooms maintenance areas and storage spaces
- Perform general facility upkeep including minor carpentry painting and hardware repairs
- Support third-party vendors and contractors during service visits
Documentation & Continuous Improvement
- Accurately document inspections maintenance activities and repairs in work order systems
- Track inventory of tools supplies and replacement parts
- Identify and recommend improvements to maintenance processes safety practices and facility performance
Compliance & Safety
- Follow all safety protocols including proper PPE usage and lockout/tagout procedures
- Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards
- Maintain clear and professional communication with team members and leadership
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 12 years of facilities or maintenance experience preferred
- Basic knowledge of HVAC electrical plumbing and mechanical systems
- Ability to perform hands-on maintenance and repair tasks
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
