About the Job :


The Red Hat Enterprise Linux Engineering (RHEL) team is looking for a skilled and passionate developer with Linux experience and programming skills to join us as a Senior Software this role you will focus on developing deploying integrating and validating RHEL workloads on multiple public clouds. You will work in an environment where diverse perspectives are invited the best ideas are valued and people feel empowered to contribute. You will work as part of a distributed self-organizing team in close collaboration and regular communication with other team members and upstream developers and will be at the forefront of our most exciting new initiatives.


What You Will Do

  • Participate in RHEL development developing features root causing and fixing bugs including validation for multiple public clouds.

  • Troubleshoot a diverse range of problems related to RHEL in cloud environments.

  • Grow as a mature team player and lead new features/solutions from a technical perspective by collaborating with stakeholders.

  • Participate in technical discussions team brainstorming sessions and planning to contribute to the next generation of features and innovations.

  • Cooperate with other engineering teams across RHEL for joint-effort solutions or initiatives.

  • Leverage AI-assisted development and/or validation tools and techniques to optimize day-to-day workflows.


What You Will Bring

  • 5 years of software development experience with strong programming skills in C and Python.

  • Direct experience in Linux development and a deep understanding of developing on Linux-based operating systems.

  • Hands-on development and deployment experience with Major Public Clouds specifically AWS GCP and Azure regarding their underlying infrastructure and RHEL integration.

  • Experience working with open-source projects and a solid understanding of how open-source and free software communities operate.

  • Proven ability to interact and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders in English.

  • Motivation to grow into a leadership role within a distributed collaborative environment.

The following are considered as a plus:

  • Previous code contributions or a record of participation in upstream open-source projects (provide GitHub samples if available).

  • Proven expertise in KVM and QEMU development to support low-level cloud integration.

  • Broad infrastructure experience with other platforms like Oracle Cloud VMware or Hyper-V.

  • Full-lifecycle contribution experience including authoring automated tests to ensure code quality and functionality.

  • Public speaking experience at technical conferences or a history of publishing technical blogs and articles.
