Your role
- Organisationcollationand assessment of desk-based information as part of Phase 1Contaminated LandDesk Studies.
- Design of Phase 2 site investigations including organisingsupervisingand undertakingenvironmental / geo-environmental site investigation and monitoringscopes. The role willincluderegularsite-based work such ascontractor supervision soil sampling andloggingenvironmentalmonitoring/sampling and supporting otherson sitein these roles too.
- Compliance with Health and Safety Policies and Procedures including preparation of H&S Plans for site investigation and managing health and safety on site.
- Preparation and delivery of factual and interpretative reporting. This may include digital data management development of conceptual site models undertaking qualitative and quantitative risk assessments for human health and the water environmenthydrogeological modelling andand Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA).
- Support with remediation designimplementationand verification.
- Developing own competence and maintain CPD necessary to fulfil the responsibilities of the role with support from the business on own training and development needs.
- Management of own work including supporting senior management to ensure projects are deliveredon-time on budget and to quality and client expectations.
About you
- Degree qualifiedin a relevant engineering or science subject (e.g. geology geography hydrogeology chemistryearth sciencesenvironmental science).
- Working towards Chartered Membership of relevant professional body.
- Relevant post-graduate experience (ideally within a consultancy environment) witha track recordin delivering workon-time on budget and to quality and client expectations.
- Demonstratable understanding of land contamination/brownfield land issues including understanding of relevant codes of practice and industry standards.
- Experience inrelevantsite-based work includingundertakingsoil and rock loggingsoil/gas/vapour/leachate/groundwater and surface water monitoring/samplingand providing supervision and management of contractors undertaking trial pitting and drilling activities on brownfield sites.
- Familiarity withdischarging Principal Contractor dutiesin accordance withCDM Regulations 2015.
- Good organisational skills and an appetite for undertaking outdoor work in all weathers (alongsidea variety ofdesk-based tasks) are essential.
- Keen team player keen to learn and make a difference.
- Willingness to travel and undertake site-based work across the UK.
- Experience indelivering site-based work on active gas andelectricityinfrastructuredistribution/ training can be provided asrequired.
- Additionalspecialist skills in hydrogeological modelling EIA environmental permittingwasteand materials management are particularly welcomed.
- Experience in working with geospatial data (GIS) using software such as QGIS and/or ArcGIS.
