The Trauma Program Manager (TPM) is responsible for the ongoing assessment planning development implementation and evaluation of regulatory standards processes services and systems to support the delivery of coordinated high-quality trauma care across the continuum from a multidisciplinary perspective. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with the American College of Surgeons standards for a Level I Trauma Center at the 39th and Rainbow campus.The Trauma Program Manager oversees the trauma service including supervision of staff coordination of trauma activities and patient flow and advancement of optimal trauma care through clinical operations professional and community education research performance improvement and administrative collaboration with the Trauma Medical Director this role ensures alignment and facilitation of interdisciplinary care to meet the needs of trauma patients and their families.
Essential Functions of a Trauma Program Manager:
Achieves organizational goals vision and objectives for the Trauma Program.
Provides clinical expertise and serves as liaison across sub-specialties hospital departments and system facilities to ensure integrated operations.
Facilitates and coordinates meetings and committees supporting operations and performance improvement activities.
Develops and implements policies procedures and clinical guidelines to support administrative and clinical functions.
Collaborates with the Trauma Medical Director APPs physicians and team leaders to assess and guide quality patient care.
Ensures alignment and ongoing compliance with American College of Surgeons standards.
Oversees the Trauma Registry and Trauma Performance Improvement Program by directing data collection analysis reporting and submission to state and national databases; developing and monitoring performance improvement indicators; collaborating with quality teams and Trauma Registrars; and ensuring effective identification of issues follow-up and loop closure.
Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions

- Analyzing reporting giving recommendations and developing strategies on how to improve quality and satisfaction.
- Create a unit budget and manage to this by monitoring staffing supplies travel equipment volume revenue charges education and food.
- Identifying problems providing solutions and courses of actions.
- Interact in a positive professional manner with evidence of conflict resolution skills.
- Maintain a presence on the unit.
- Primary involvement in employee selection career development succession planning and periodic training.
- Role Model professional nursing practice through collaboration with staff leadership patients families and physicians.
- Serve as a mentor for staff developing into leadership roles.
- Supervise and manage the overall performance and technical competencies of staff in his/her department.
- Must be able to perform the professional clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Education and Experience
- High School Graduate
- Bachelor Degree Nursing
Preferred Education and Experience
- Master Degree Nursing
- 2 or more years of management experience
Required Licensure and Certification
- Licensed Registered Nurse (LRN) - Multi-State - State Board of Nursing - in state in which you live OR
- Licensed Registered Nurse (LRN) - Single State - State Board of Nursing - active with multistate in progress with proof of application
- Must have current active multistate state Register Nurse (RN) license in good standing in state in which you live OR active single state RN license in good standing in the state you will be working with proof of application of a multistate RN license in the state in which you live. Staff hired prior to 2/1/2024 are required to obtain a multistate state RN license from the state in which they live at the time of their next RN license renewal by 4/30/2026.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS or BCLS) - American Heart Association (AHA) within 14 days
Preferred Licensure and Certification
- Nursing Professional Development Certification (NPD-BC) - American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)
