Your key duties and responsibilities:

Occupational Health:

• All legal and ethical issues surrounding Clinical Practice
• Medical records in every format
• Occupational Health spend within Budget.
• Correspondence via all media
• Occupational Health Nurse appointments and follow-ups
• Sourcing appropriate external agencies to support OH functions where required
• Liaising with internal & external service providers to maintain department housekeeping

Responsible for arranging and co-ordinating the Health Surveillance programme including but not limited to:

• Spirometry
• Audiometry
• Skin
• Manual Handling Equipment (MHE) Operators
• Night Workers

Pre-Placement Health Screening and advice

• Confidential assessment with candidates
• Provide report to candidates manager and HR on fitness to work and any reasonable adjustments
• Assist with arranging external Agencies support as required

First Aid provision on the Deeside Manufacturing site

• Arranging First Aid training on Convatec Sites as required
• Auditing and restocking First Aid consumables and reporting process
• Auditing and supporting First Aiders giving guidance to encourage confidence and improve skills

Digital processes-development to optimise functionality productivity and enhance Data-Protection

• Creating managing and processing digital forms
• Creating & managing Automation Flows which run background actions on processes
• Host the digitised UK Pre-Placement process on behalf of Global People Partners

Also: -

• Support management & workforce to improve health social wellbeing and the quality of working lives
• Identifying and mitigating potential health issues
• Promoting healthy life choices
• Ongoing counselling and support

• Proactive and dynamic ability to manage workload which is frequently subject to shifting priorities
• Identify existing and emerging OH issues as affected by national and international developments and legislation
• Assist the Business to develop strategies to meet the regulatory requirements incumbent upon it in relation to OH
• Knowledge of the Data Protection Laws maintaining and processing Sensitive Data accordingly
• Liaising with EHS and Business Partners with regard to OH Risk Assessment and Risk Management
• Collate statistics of functions as will assist the Business to analyse and verify productivity & quality
• Liaising with external Health and Regulatory bodies as required
• Ensure in-date calibration and Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) as required
• Continual Professional Development (CPD) as required by own Registration both ongoing and periodic
• Complete Convatec (CVT) required training as allocated.
• Support the EHS Committee meeting and Management review.
• Provide OH management advice to the business to support its Absence Management Policy

Skills & Experience:

• Previous experience in Occupational Health environment in manufacturing businesses
• Working knowledge of applicable Acts and Legislation as they apply to the Business & their profession
• Ability to digest and interpret existing and new legislation and its implications on OH and the Business
• Effective communicator with colleagues at multiple levels.
• Proactive ability to work as part of a Multi-Disciplinary Team as well as autonomously
• Experienced in clinical interpretation of Health Surveillance results
• IT skills including good working knowledge of Word Excel Adobe Microsoft Forms Microsoft PowerPoint Microsoft Power Automate Microsoft Power Apps amongst others
• Experienced in managing comprehensive Electronic Medical Records according to legislation and ethics ensuring safe storage security and confidentiality

Qualifications/Education:

• University Advanced Diploma in Occupational Health (or similar)
• Registered General Nurse (RGN) with a valid entry on the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC)
• Professional Body membership and indemnity - Royal College of Nursing
• Ongoing Continual Professional Development (CPD) as required
• First Aid Instructor and Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) certified for First Aid Training (preferred)

Travel Requirements:

• Occasional overnight stays from one to four nights at UK sites approximately 14% of the year.

Working Conditions:

• Primarily office based at Deeside with visits to UK sites and Shop Floor as required.

Special Conditions:

• Needs to cover all shifts as required to complete mandatory Health Surveillance
• Flexibility to alter shifts to accommodate the various sites and their shift patterns
