Take your nursing career to the next level with a team that truly values skill compassion and growth. Sentara Obici Hospital is seeking a dedicated and patient-focused Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU)
As an IMCU RN youll provide high-quality evidence-based care to patients requiring close observation and specialized nursing support. Youll play an essential role in monitoring complex conditions collaborating with an interdisciplinary team and ensuring a smooth transition for patients between critical care and general medical-surgical units.
About the unit:
The IMCU is a 24 bed unit that provides care for higher acuity patients in neuro cardiac respiratory surgical and renal. Typical patients include respiratory failure/congestive heart failure chronic trached ventilator patients stroke and seizure patients MI cardiac patients Renal hemodialysis and post op surgical patients with extensive wounds such as decubs VATs ortho and ostomy. The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment diagnosis outcomes identification planning implementation coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics culturally congruent practice communication collaboration leadership education evidence- based practice /nursing research quality evaluation resource utilization and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.
Education
- Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN or MSN (Preferred)
- Students in the process of completing an accredited nursing program.
- Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required)
Certification/Licensure
- Registered nursing License (Required)
- Students in the process of obtaining a Registered Nursing License.
- BLS required within 90 days of hire
Experience
- None required
- 1 year of acute care (preferred)
- Previous healthcare experience (preferred)
