This position is governed by state and federal laws and University of Arkansas policies and procedures. After-hours emergency call-in and work during inclement weather are required.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Completion of required education or training and appropriate HVAC licensure or certification in accordance with ACA
At least 10 years of experience in HVAC or a closely related field
High school diploma or equivalent
At least two (2) years in a leadership or lead technician capacity
Valid drivers license
Preferred Qualifications:
At least 10 years of HVAC experience in a commercial institutional or industrial setting
At least two (2) years of supervisory experience
Experience supporting HVAC operations in a large campus healthcare or research environment
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of HVAC systems components preventive maintenance practices and repair methods
Knowledge of applicable safety standards codes and regulations related to HVAC work
Knowledge of supervisory and workforce management principles
Skill in the use care and troubleshooting of HVAC tools equipment and machinery
Ability to read and interpret blueprints manuals schematics and work drawings
Ability to plan schedule and coordinate HVAC maintenance and repair activities
Ability to supervise and motivate skilled trades employees
Ability to use Microsoft Office applications and computerized work order systems
Strong communication and organizational skills

Work is performed in mechanical rooms rooftops confined spaces and occupied buildings
Requires lifting climbing bending and working in varying environmental conditions
On-call after-hours and emergency response duties are required
