FLSA CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt
SALARY RANGE: $68275 - $89351 (with additional earning potential through an average of 225 hours of overtime annually)
Applicants must be 18 years of age with a high school diploma GED or post-high school education at a technical or college level with three (3) years of related experience is required. All qualified candidates will go through our selection process that includes successfully passing a CritiCall test and a panel interview. *Candidates must attach a copy of their resume and cover letter with their application package to be considered.* |
Flexible Schedule:
- Modified Kelly Schedule/Berkley Schedule:
- On-Off-On-Off-On-Off for 4 days
- Currently we offer 24 or 12-hour shifts
- Holiday pay for holidays worked

OVERVIEW
Our Emergency Communications Center is an IAES & ACE Accredited Dispatch Center that responds to an average of 48000 calls per year and serves as secondary PSAP dispatching EMS and Fire resources. Dispatchers function at all positions on a rotation: call taking radio system status operations talk groups and support.
GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY
As a First Responder the Emergency Communications Dispatcher is a specialized position performing multi-channel emergency radio and communications work for the Emergency Communications Center (a secondary Public Safety Answering Point for fire and emergency services). The Dispatcher is responsible for receiving and prioritizing emergency and non- emergency telephone calls from the public and primary Public Safety Answering Points. Work involves evaluating incoming calls to determine appropriate level of Fire/EMS assistance required dispatching units and transmitting information and messages upon request according to established procedures. This position monitors public safety units in the field retrieves and enters computer data operates TDD/TTY and other related communications equipment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION EXPERIENCE LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS (An equivalent combination of education training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position is qualifying.)
Must be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED. Post-high school education at a technical or college level is preferred.
Three (3) years of Public Safety dispatching or 911 call center experience is required.
Requires current certifications in the following:
- CPR
- EMD nonspecific
- ICS/NIMS
- APCO Telecommunicator 1
Required to obtain and maintain the following certifications within one (1) year of employment: Priority Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) Priority Emergency Fire Dispatch (EFD) APCO Fire Service Communications ICS 300 and Blue Card Incident Command.
