Job Summary
Salamanca City Central School District is seeking energetic reliable Substitute School Cleaners to join our facilities team and ensure a clean safe and welcoming environment for students and staff. This flexible on-call position is perfect for someone looking for extra income while helping maintain high cleaning standards during staff absences. As an integral part of our daily school operation you will help foster a healthy learning environment.
Typical work activities include:
- Sweeps and mops floors and stairs;
- Dusts chairs tables and other furniture;
- Washes windows walls sinks and other fixtures;
- Polishes furniture and metal furnishings;
- Empties waste baskets collects and disposes of rubbish;
- Replaces soap and towels;
- Waxes floors;
- Moves and arranges chairs tables and other furnishings and equipment;
- Cleans clothes equipment and other laundry items using washing and drying machines;
- May load and unload materials parts or products manually or using a hoist;
- May shovel snow from sidewalks stairs and other passages;
- May direct facility users to appropriate areas and observe their conduct to report violations facility rules;
- May open close and check building securing windows locks and doors;
- May collect fold sort and distribute laundry and linen items;
- May perform minor maintenance tasks;
- May operate motor vehicle to travel from one work site to another.
Per regulations of the Commissioner of Education to be employed in a position designated by a school district or BOCES as involving direct contact with students a clearance for employment (fingerprinting) from the State Education Department is required.
