These duties will be performed at FCC Forrest City AR a federal corrections facility.
Location: 1301 Dale Bumpers Forrest CityAR 72335.
Schedule:Monday Wednesday Friday 8 hours per day 7:30am4:00pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch (40 hours per week).
Pay:$74 per hour 1099.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have a current unrestricted license to practice in any state in the United States.
- At a minimum must be a graduate of an accredited school of higher education as a pharmacist.
- Possess knowledge of methods techniques and procedure to perform job activities on various types of medical equipment and automated systems and of safety principles and infections control in the patient care environment.
- Possess the ability to relate and deal effectively with physician peers inmates and others; to recognize report and record changes in patients physical and emotional condition.
- Be able to administer medication.
DUTIES:All Pharmacist Services duties will be performed in accordance with standards and methods generally accepted within the field of Pharmacy and adhere to all standards and regulations associated with the Federal Bureau of Prisons Healthcare Services and the American Correctional Association Standards/Core Standards for Adult Correctional Institutions as well as Federal and State policies and regulations.
- Interpretation of medical/dental staff prescription orders. These orders may be the traditional physical prescription or orders taken from entries in the patients medical file.
- Selecting the correct medication and filling the prescription.
- Entering prescriptions into the pharmacys prescription computer system and printing prescription labels.
- Inventorying medications and supplies recording items that are low and in stocking levels and advising the Health Service Administrator (HSA) or COR of medications that need ordering.
- Interacting with inmates regarding their medication(s) and providing patient education about the medication(s).
