Position Overview:
We are looking to fill positions for Packaging Operators. Under the general direction of a Packaging Lead the packaging line general help is responsible to perform a variety of duties including but not limited to setting up packaging line sorting boxing palletizing and housekeeping. This person must be comfortable with working in a production area and standing for extended hours. This position will report to the Production Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Processing finished product through packaging machines
- Assembling boxes packing bagged product from the packaging tables into cases and placing them on pallets
- Print and apply labels to cases inspecting finished product
- Involved in equipment cleaning some housekeeping responsibilities and other duties as assigned
- Applicant must be able to be on their feet for 8 - 12 hours keep up with a fast repetitious pace and can perform repetitious lifting
- Must be able to work weekends and overtime as needed
- Places the correct number of packages into cartons
- Checks to make sure that the correct cartons and label are at the packaging station
- Inspects the quality of the finished product case and pallet.
- Places the packed cartons on the skids in the appropriate manner. Verifies that the correct number of cartons is on each skid
- Watches the product while traveling through production process to ensure a high-quality product
- Removes any product not meeting quality standards from the line
Essential Job Functions:
- Quickly sort and separate processed product
- Make boxes
- Fill boxes with bagged product
- Apply correct label in appropriate orientation
- Stack and palletize product for shipping
