Job Description:
This role is responsible for transacting letters of credit for Business Banking and Commercial Banking clients. Key responsibilities include preparing and reviewing letter of credit documentation and obtaining transaction information. Job expectations include collecting and managing client credit history and financial information in accordance with policies and procedures. Additional responsibilities include utilizing professional judgment in determining appropriate resolution of client needs.
Responsibilities:
Resolves escalated client requests leveraging resources across other functional areas
Consults independently and liaises with business partners to ensure customer requirements are fully met within specific timeframes
Exercises loan authority in concert with credit/risk management to extend appropriate financing solutions to customers for letter of credit transactions according to underwriting guidelines
Communicates crisply and candidly
Monitors the timeliness of the overall letter of credit fulfillment process to achieve client delight
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in Commercial Banking with direct exposure to trade finance letters of credit or related commercial lending operations.
Demonstrated experience supporting Letters of Credit including issuance amendments draws renewals or document examination within a financial institution or commercial banking environment.
Strong working knowledge of commercial banking products and processes including credit facilities collateral documentation and compliance requirements.
Experience reviewing and processing financial and legal documentation with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to interpret and apply regulatory and policy requirements related to letters of credit (e.g. UCP 600 ISP98 internal bank policies).
Proficiency with banking systems and tools used in commercial operations (e.g. trade finance platforms document management systems Microsoft Office).
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with internal partners clients and external counterparties.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadlinedriven environment while maintaining quality and compliance standards.
