Basic Job Functions:
Responsibilities for a plate machine operator include but are not limited to:
- Safely operate overhead cranes forklifts and other equipment as needed.
- Read and interpret drawings.
- Perform tasks as directed by the Line Supervisor and/or the Line Group Leader.
- Efficiently track and maintain material inventory.
- Understand order processing (shop releases and run orders).
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate lead and uphold safety policies practices procedures and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
- GMAW experience.
