We are looking for a Lead Engineer - Solutions Engineering to join our Corporate Technology team. You will own and drive the internal ticketing platform - Arcesiums internal ticketing and workflow engine powering request management incident handling and automation across the organization.

This is primarily a hands-on engineering role with a technical leadership component. You will spend most of your time writing code designing systems and solving engineering problems while also mentoring a small team and driving platform direction. The ideal candidate is a strong Java backend engineer comfortable working across the full stack with a platform-ownership mindset - from code to production.

What Youll Do

1. Platform Ownership: Own the Ticketing platform end-to-end architecture development deployment and production operations.
2. Backend & Full-Stack Development: Build and maintain production-grade Java services work with SQL Server for query optimization and schema migrations and contribute to frontend changes when needed.
3. DevOps & Cloud: Own CI/CD pipelines (Git Maven/Gradle GitLab CI) and manage containerized deployments on AWS (ECS RDS S3 CloudWatch).
4. Observability & Incident Response: Build monitoring dashboards and alerting. Lead incident response root cause analysis and post-mortems.
5. Security: Ensure platform security authentication authorization secrets management cross-client isolation and annual security upgrades.
6. Team Leadership: Mentor and guide engineers through code reviews design discussions and technical direction. Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders on delivery and roadmap.
7. Documentation: Maintain technical documentation runbooks and architecture decision records.

What Youll Need

1. Backend Engineering Java: Strong expertise in Java including concurrency collections streams and JVM internals. Comfortable working with vendor or legacy codebases.
2. SQL Server: Hands-on experience with query optimization schema migrations (Liquibase) connection pool management and performance monitoring.
3. Full-Stack Capability: Proficiency in JavaScript and modern UI frameworks. Able to build review and debug frontend code when needed.
4. DevOps & Cloud (AWS): Experience with CI/CD pipelines containerized deployments (Docker ECS) and AWS services.
5. APIs & Distributed Systems: Solid understanding of RESTful API design and microservices patterns.
6. Security: Understanding of web application security authentication authorization access control and secrets management.
7. Problem Solving: Strong debugging skills with a structured approach. Ability to lead incident response under pressure.
8. Leadership: Ability to mentor engineers drive technical decisions and take ownership of platform initiatives. Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
