University of Washington Medical Center - Montlake Heart Institute Heart Failure team has an outstanding opportunity for a Registered Nurse (RN).
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:
TheHeart Institute at UW Medical Center-Montlake located in Seattle WA offers aspecialized Advanced Heart Failure & Transplant Clinic. This program focuses on treating patients with weak hearts and end-stage heart failure using comprehensive care including medical management mechanical circulatory support (VADs) and heart transplantation.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides expert nursing care to heart failure patients
Systematically assesses the need for and the delivery of nursing services that meet patient care requirements whether delivered directly or by the other nursing staff
Ability to formulate coordinate and revise an individualized plan of care as indicated by the patients response to treatment and evaluate overall plan daily for effectiveness
Provides care for individual patients over the telephone using the nursing process
Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/healthcare errors
Integrates patient and family education into the delivery of care ensuring educational activities are culturally appropriate and are tailored to the patients and familys ability to comprehend and participate in care
Coordinates the care given by others to achieve efficient clinic operations
Assumes responsibility for continued professional growth and sharing expertise with other team members
REQUIREMENTS:
Active WA State or Multi-state RN License by start date
Current BLS and ACLS
2 years of outpatient or inpatient Cardiology/Tele experience
