As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and community banking technology team youare an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance build and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure stable and scalable way. As a core technical contributor you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firms business objectives.

Job responsibilities

Executes creative software solutions design development and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
Develops secure high-quality production code and reviews and debugs code written by others
Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors startups and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs technical credentials and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture
Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
Adds to team culture of diversity opportunity inclusion and respect
Leadsthe design development and evolution of a highly scalable reliable GraphQL platform with exceptional performance and high availability across multiple teams and services.
Establishes and championsobservability monitoring and alerting standards across the platform designing proactive solutions to detect and resolve issues before they impact users.
Leads the developmentof automation strategies for CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code practices creating reusable patterns and frameworks that accelerate delivery across engineering teams.
Designs and overseesintuitive self-service developer experiences including APIs tooling documentation and integration patterns that enable teams to adopt platform services independently.

Required qualifications capabilities and skills

6 yearsof professional software engineering experience with3 yearsfocused on building and scaling platform solutions or infrastructure.
Proven leadership experiencein mentoring engineers leading technical initiatives and driving architectural decisions across teams.
Expert in containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kuberneteswith hands-on experience managing large-scale workloads on Kubernetes.
Expert-level proficiencyin scripting and automation using Bash Groovy Python or similar languages.
Deep hands-on experiencewith Terraform and infrastructure-as-code practices for managing complex multi-environment infrastructure.
Strong expertisein GraphQL architecture schema design and RESTful API principles with experience designing and implementing API standards.
Extensive experiencedesigning and implementing CI/CD pipelines build automation and deployment strategies.
Expert-level proficiencywith version control workflows (Git/Bitbucket) and distributed systems monitoring using tools such as Splunk DataDog Dynatrace or CloudWatch.
Deep understandingof OAuth 2.0 secure authentication/authorization patterns and security best practices in platform engineering.
Exceptional documentation skills including creating comprehensive technical documentation architecture decision records (ADRs) runbooks and system diagrams.

Preferred qualifications capabilities and skills

Production experiencearchitecting building and scaling GraphQL platforms serving multiple teams or business units.
Extensive experiencewith AWS cloud architecture and services including architectural patterns for high availability and disaster recovery.
Advanced knowledgeof AWS services including EKS ECS Fargate IAM VPC design CloudWatch X-Ray ElastiCache-Redis RDS Aurora Postgres MSK and KMS.
Proficiencyin at least one modern programming language (Java Rust Go or similar) with ability to review code and provide technical guidance.
Proven track recorddesigning and implementing comprehensive observability solutions (metrics logging tracing alerting) and automating complex CI/CD workflows using Jenkins Spinnaker or similar platforms.
Contributionsto open-source projects or technical communities related to GraphQL platform engineering or cloud-native architectures.
