Based within the Colleague Experience team our Onboarding Pre-Employment Support role offers the unique opportunity to provide key support to colleagues when they join our organisation. As an Onboarding Pre-Employment Support you will play a vital role in ensuring that all pre-employment activities for incoming colleagues are completed accurately efficiently and in line with established guidelines and timelines. Whilst you will follow clear processes this role requires the ability to interpret and apply complex Civil Service recruitment policies with confidence and precision.

This is a fast-paced position required to support a high volume of new starters joining Social Security Scotland to deliver our new benefits. We need someone who has strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills to juggle a varied workload and meet tight deadlines. An ability to engage and manage both internal and external stakeholders confidently both verbally and in writing is also required to consistently deliver a first-class service.

  • Work at pace to manage a busy candidate caseload over various recruitment campaigns at different stages.
  • Update and maintain accurate records on all Team and business systems and trackers.
  • Manage the pre-employment checks for specialist and nonstandard recruitment as and when required.
  • Providing first line advice and guidance to hiring managers on policy/legislative requirements in relation to pre-employment.
  • Providing candidate support via the recruitment helpline via the Storm Telephony System.
  • Engage regularly with candidates to ensure appropriate paperwork is returned and ensuring they are onboarded in line with Baseline Personnel Security Standards (BPSS).
  • Develop expertise in internal team systems and processes to contribute to the running and overall efficiency of the team.
  • Maintain correct and up-to-date information following data protection guidance and handle sensitive and personal information in line with confidentiality rules.
  • Providing admin support across the wider Strategic resourcing team.

Hybrid Working
