Job Summary
Purpose: This position helps make gospel teachings resources or services accessible to all in a simple and affordable way supporting the mission of the Church.
The framing worker 2 position is an intermediate level individual contributor role in which incumbents can demonstrate technical and skilled operations normally obtained through several years of hands-on experience. Qualified candidates will have practical experience and knowledge of multiple operations associated with the production of fine art pictures matts frames etc. which include both manually operated machinery as well as computer-aided cutting equipment. Framing worker 2 employees will work with and assist journeyman framers in the creation manufacturing and finishing of museum quality works of art. Associates in this position will assist in the training of entry-level employees as well as take control of some operations in the manufacturing process. Successful candidates will be able to work with little or no input or supervision from management but will be efficient in making decisions that will best maximize the production output and meet quality standards according to pre-set standards and deadlines.
Responsibilities
- 90% Operates machinery and performs operations assigned to produce fine art framing and associated materials. Follows work tickets and assignments to ensure consistent high quality product which meet predetermined standards and schedules/deadlines. Performs operations and techniques normally associated with the fine art and framing manufacturing process.
- 10% Maintains records of all duties performed using production tracking software; assists in the training of entry-level employees and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- High School graduate or equivalent plus 1 year experience working in a custom framing shop operating power equipment and performing skill techniques and processes.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and oversized and awkward-sized objects on a regular basis; must be able to stand on feet for majority of assigned shift being able to freely squat bend push/pull lift overhead etc.
- Must be able to work around strong smells dust fine sawdust particulates etc.
- Must have knowledge and understanding of standard measurements and understand and manage inventory of supplies and materials.
- Ability to perform technical skills and knowledge required to operating tools and machinery which will produce high quality fine art prints and frames.
- Must have functional (intermediate-level) computer skills.
- Ability to work with and relate to employees guest and customers of various skills education and cultural backgrounds.
- Ability to work well with management and other employees in giving and receiving specific and technical instructions and assignments.
- Must be able to work additional days and extended shifts as needed due to production demands.
- Self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision once properly trained.
- Must maintain a good attendance and on time record.
Preferred
- Leadership experience preferred.
