Under regular supervision inspect analyze and transform raw materials in-process as well as finished product samples to secure compliance with product safety regulations specifications and standards.
Core Responsibilities
- Perform chemical physical testing and sensory evaluations of products or incoming ingredients as identified by the current Givaudan specification for the item.
- Perform transformations of raw materials as well as concretes or vegetal materials.
- Perform sensory evaluations of products.
- Keep olfactory standards up to date.
- Enter test results into SAP in a timely resulting in an acceptance or rejection.
- Communicate rejections and information updates to key contacts in Quality Operations Purchasing and Customer Care as needed. Types of communications include e-mail making notes in system and/or verbal.
- Perform basic equipment calibrations per frequency noted in calibration procedures.
- Perform instruments equipment and quality deviations troubleshooting in laboratory.
- Maintain work a hygienic and safe work environment.
- Provide backup and support to team members as necessary.
- Identify opportunity for improvements in QC and set proactive measure for trouble prevention.
Academic Background
- Vocational diploma (pre-university) in Chemistry Biology Environmental Science or related discipline.
- University degree preferred.
Professional experience
- Overall work experience of 5 to 6 years with 2 to 3 years in a similar position.
Technical Skills
- Laboratory and/or QC techniques required.
- Operational experience and strong affinity on laboratory system analytical equipment and instruments such as weighing balance Densitometer Refractometer Moisture balances Karl Fischer titrator Sieve testing equipment GC.
- Knowledge on chemical substances hazardous material and related local regulations.
- Good Sensory Evaluation experience preferred.
