Summary of the Position
We are seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to cover the Southwest Indiana and Western Kentucky area including Evansville and Owensboro. This is a road-based position that involves traveling to customer sites to perform equipment repairs and maintenance. In this role you will perform repair and maintenance on municipal and contractor environmental equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
Advanced Diagnostics and Troubleshooting:
- Diagnose mechanical hydraulic and electrical issues
- Utilize diagnostic tools schematics and technical manuals
- Identify root causes and recommend repairs
Complex Repairs and Maintenance:
- Perform advanced repairs and preventative maintenance
- Repair or replace major equipment components
- Complete welding and fabrication tasks as needed
Quality Control and Documentation:
- Ensure repairs meet quality and safety standards
- Inspect completed work and identify additional issues
- Document repairs parts used and labor hours
Customer Interaction:
- Communicate repair findings and recommendations professionally
- Maintain positive and professional customer interactions
Qualifications
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to work independently and solve problems effectively
- Experience with heavy equipment repair welding and fabrication preferred
- Knowledge of pneumatic hydraulic and 12-volt electrical systems
- Ability to read and interpret wiring schematics and electrical diagrams
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
To be successful in this role you may need to lift up to 50 pounds stand walk bend stoop kneel crouch crawl and climb ladders or equipment. Vision and hearing must be sufficient to identify equipment issues and ensure safety. The position involves exposure to loud noise odors dust heat cold and vibration. You may have to tolerate temperature fluctuations and work in various weather conditions.
