USF World is led by a VP and is comprised of units across Tampa St. Petersburg and Sarasota devoted to promoting education abroad international student recruitment and admissions support services for international students and scholars the management of international partnerships international travel risk and safety services management of Peace Corps programming tracking and documenting international research collaborations and the global footprint of faculty students and staff international alumni development and outreach and the marketing and communication of USF World programs and initiatives. Comprising a total of over 100 employees and a budget of approximately $11.3 M clients are USF faculty developing international academic experiences curriculum and research collaborations administrators promoting the global priorities of USF staff responsible for supporting international activities across campuses colleges and other units current and prospective students coming to USF from other countries and U.S. students seeking global experiences as well as university partners from abroad. Community partners include local state national and international leaders of government and public and private organizations including other institutions of higher ed military business and industry.

The Communications and Marketing Officer is responsible for developing and producing a wide variety of creative materials and content designed to promote and elevate the University of South Floridas (USF) global reputation. This position plays a key role in supporting USF Worlds international recruitment goals by executing marketing content lead-nurturing campaigns and branded collateral across digital and print channels. The Officer works closely with leadership within the USF World International Recruitment team to ensure marketing materials website content and overall branding maintain consistency and align with USFs mission and values.

Special Skills or Training:

Graphic design multimedia content creation digital photography video production and editing website management digital marketing and strategic communications.

Special Requirements:

Strong verbal and written communication are necessary. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse multicultural audiences are required.



Responsibilities

Develops creative designs videos content and campaigns to support international student recruitment to USF. Creates layouts designs and text for presentations flyers event support materials brochures marketing campaigns and other communications collateral as needed.

Develops written content for marketing campaigns email outreach social media and promotional materials. Maintains brand voice and messaging consistency across all materials in alignment with USF Worlds international recruitment goals.

Updates the international recruitment web pages with current admissions and event information videos and other digital resources. Maintains an organized electronic database of image and multimedia asset files.

Works with other USF World units university partners and international students to identify develop and market stories that promote USFs programs events student activities and achievements. Assists in photographing and/or creating video content of events and initiatives for use in ongoing marketing campaigns.

Assists in coordinating with vendors to produce routine promotional materials in print or multimedia formats. Performs other duties as assigned.



Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

This position requires a bachelors degree in communication marketing public relations technical writing digital media or related field with two years of experience in related positions; or a Masters degree in the fields listed above. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Degree Equivalency Clause: Four years of direct experience for a bachelors degree.
Senate Bill 1310- The Florida Senate ( is conditional upon meeting all employment eligibility requirements in the U.S.
SB 1310: Substitution of Work Experience for Postsecondary Education Requirements
A public employer may include a postsecondary degree as a baseline requirement only as an alternative to the number of years of direct experience required not to exceed:
(a) Two years of direct experience for an associate degree;
(b) Four years of direct experience for a bachelors degree;
(c) Six years of direct experience for a masters degree;
(d) Seven years of direct experience for a professional degree; or
(e) Nine years of direct experience for a doctoral degree
Related work experience may not substitute for any required licensure certification or registration required for the position of employment as established by the public employer and indicated in the advertised description of the position of employment.
Minimum Qualifications that require a high school diploma are exempt from SB 1310.

Preferred Qualifications:

Masters degree in communication marketing public relations technical writing digital media or related field. Excellent graphic design creation in Adobe Cloud Suite (InDesign Photoshop Illustrator) Canva etc. Excellent in Microsoft Office (Teams Word PowerPoint Excel) and CRM platforms such as Slate;Experience in website management; Experience with digital photography and video editing; Proficient writing and editing skills; Knowledgeable on email marketing platforms and digital content workflows; Able to multi-task and prioritize assignments; Experience in international recruitment global marketing or cross-cultural communications.
